Things had evolved over year slowly. I used to be active sportsman, in youth I had been basketball player on high level (even if missing the needed height). I played in a team that competed in national youth championships. Next step was hobby volleyball player, then I focused much on my professional career in IT. I had also been husband that was enthusiasticaly gaining weight together with pregnant wife and ignored sports and fitness.
But then the moment came when I said enough and started with volleyball (and sports in general) again. But moving all those pounds on the field and jumping with them at net (with at 175 cm/ 5'8'') is lot of work. So it was back to running a bit again (in youth I was solid runner even as part of basketball training - father's runners heritage is present) to burn some calories. I tent to pick simple solutions and running is simple activity that can be done at every free moment without lot of preparations and restrictions. Then I also discovered (and about 18 months ago again rediscovered) orienteering where good running is -obviously- important part. As competitive person i try to improve my performance and now i think it's time to focus on running seriously.
In parallel I have discovered in waste areas of internet (mostly again by chance) several interest blogs. And it is really convenient to have them all blogrolled on own blog - to see the news- without having to worry/ bother with RSS feeds and similar stuff.
In general many thngs happened seemingly by chance (or is that my fortune?) but what is important is that it worked for me.
This is also my training diary (together with Endomondo app) and my approach to attempt to stay motivated to stick with running. I intend to capture interesting moments and progress here. A maybe someone can be even inspired and motivated by this.
Next aspect is to improve my writing skills in my native language (slovak) and get a bit practice in German and English as foreign languages as every entry will be written three times - once in each of the languages. I would try to make sure writing does make sense - however cannot guarantee it will be interesting for others as well.
According to old multilingual tradition in city of Prespork/Pressburg/ Pozsonyi (nowadays Bratislava) also this blog will be multilingual. Each language would have own label here. Unfortunately I do not speak Hungarian as was usual before (last that spoke that language in my family was my grandma) so Hungarian will be replaced by English. I think nowadays and in internet space it makes sense.
lobo
- wolf in spanish language. I feel that animal describes me pretty well - I am a bit of loner(wolf). I don't crave companion that much. Next reason to go running - keep some personal space (regardless if i run alone of I am participating in competition), focus on myself and the track. Wolfs are good runners and this blog shall be mainly about running. But mainly word lobo contains "OB" string - and that is Slovak abbreviation for orienteering. And orienteering is main reason for me running. But that is different story for some other day.
As lobo subdomain on blogspot was already taken this loboruns was next logical choice.
I am always looking forward to learning something new. So if you spot some mistake (either factual or grammatical) don't hesitate to call it out.
I hope you enjoyed reading this.
